All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In cases of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will take priority.
Eligibility Criteria

- Drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type, with potential extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid, full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Gorleston office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are generally required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We process payments securely using major credit and debit cards through trusted providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle from our Gorleston location, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed to document the state of the car at the time of pickup. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage discovered will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Additional insurance options may be available to help lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, except when additional insurance is in place. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of existing insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. Please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise information. Late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Usage:
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar risky endeavors is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting to unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Users must refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and should not exceed designated passenger or weight limits. Driving outside agreed geographical boundaries without proper authorization is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Gorleston will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
Governing Law in Gorleston
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
